About Us
The Henley Fringe Festival will promote theatre and drama to the public. It will be open to all applicants subject to a selection process agreed by the board of directors. It will provide theatre artistes (performers, writers, directors, etc.) with a means of showcasing their work to the public and to industry professionals (agents, casting directors and producers), in order to enhance their careers and build their performance techniques.
The Henley Fringe Festival was conceived by four like-minded people who are passionate about the arts and committed to developing new opportunities for performers.
Jo Southwell and Heather Simpkin first crossed paths when they were trying to take a production to Edinburgh and found the cost prohibitive. They saw an opportunity for a more accessible event, enrolled the help of Mike Huntington in their vision and the Festival was born.
The Henley Fringe Festival is different and will remain so. It is an opportunity for professionals to perform in a new venue at a cost that won’t break the bank.
